Dec 2003

This 2003 report discusses the application of advanced technology to US Department of Defense problems with unexploded ordnance (UXO). The report poses and answers two questions: first, can technology reduce the cleanup costs of UXO; and second, can technology help minimize the environmental impact of future live-fire training? The report concludes that modern technology can help in both situations, but changes are needed in current cleanup processes and in future live-fire practices.
