Publication

This document outlines the national defense policy of Brazil in 1998. It first describes the context and aims of this publication and then sets out the international geopolitical situation, worldwide and specifically on the continent of Latin America. Both opportunities and risks for the country and its international relations are evaluated. After defining the objectives of the Brazilian national defense policy, the document gives the strategy guidance and directives to achieve these objectives.
