This Strategic Defence and Security Review addresses new and evolving threats to the security of the United Kingdom. The strategy sets out how the new government intends to “sort out the mess” they inherited. Measures include: to ensure the forces in Afghanistan have the equipment they need; to begin to bring the defense program back into balance; and to enable Britain to retain the best and most versatile Armed Forces in the world – better equipped to protect the national security in an age of uncertainty.
