Publication

This report lays out the strategic concept of the Chief of Defense of Italy. It presents the mission of the Italian armed forces and the goals of the Italian defense strategy. After reviewing general strategic considerations and defining areas of national interest, the report provides insights into the military implications of these considerations and outlines a strategy for future operations and the capabilities necessary to meet the described goals. In conclusion the transformation of the armed forces in the past, the immediate and the long-term future are illustrated.
