Developed for the first time in the Romanian military practice, the Military Strategy of Romania elaborates the role of the military in Romanian national security. While keeping an adequate combat potential, the Romanian armed forces are subject to restructuring and modernization processes as outlined in the document. The aim of this process is to establish Project Force 2005, which is to be more compact, efficient, effective, flexible and compatible with NATO standards. The document further highlights the importance of international partnership and cooperative regional relations.
