Slovenia's strategic defense review discusses the country's defence sector reform that is aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the defence system. The review therefore sets out long-term strategic goals, founded on national interests but balanced by membership of NATO, and the required capabilities and force structure, as well as the intermediate goals leading to their achievement. On the basis of the results of the strategic defense review the defence reforms carried out includes changes to the defence strategy and plans, the capabilities and structure of the SAF and the related manning, modernisation, infrastructure, doctrine and training.
