This unofficial translation Slovakia's 2005 security strategy lays down basic premises for implementing the country’s security policy. The document reflects fundamental changes in the security environment of the Slovak Republic, its new commitments and responsibility for participation in ensuring security and defense of the broader community of democratic nations, allies and partners of the Slovak Republic associated within the Euro-Atlantic structures. In this context, it highlights the importance and Slovakia's role in international organizations and regional structures in preserving peace and security in the world.
