Publication

This publication discusses the Japanese National Defense Program of 2011, a new guideline for Japan's security policy and defense forces. Based on an assessment of the security environment surrounding Japan, it lays out the basic policies to ensure Japan's security and the future defense forces necessary for this task. Among others, Japan will place special priorities on the effective utilization of human resources, the development and maintenance of defense production capability and the consideration of measures in response to changes in the international environment regarding defense equipment.
