This defense white paper describes the role of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), their various strategic capabilities, and their overall contribution to defend Brunei Darussalam's sovereignty. It elaborates on the country’s aspiration to develop and see modern Armed Forces which in the long term have the necessary capabilities and a high standard of professionalism to preserve the nation's sovereignty. The white paper further initiates a review of Brunei's defense posture, with the aim of ensuring that the Royal Brunei Armed Forces continue to have the appropriate mix of concepts, capabilities and forces.
