This white paper of is aimed at presenting aims of Lithuanian defense policy as well as measures for its implementation. In addition, it addresses the structure of the Lithuanian armed forces and their development plans. A major goal constitutes the future accession to NATO and the execution of the remaining assignments to achieve this aim. The white paper further outlines in detail Lithuanian security policy with discussions about the participation in international projects, the country's defense management, its relationship between defense and society, as well as personnel management and the defense budget.
