Publication

This document presents the security strategy of the EU. It describes the global security environment and key threats, while further outlining the Union's strategic objectives and summing up the resulting policy implications. The document argues that the EU has the potential to make a major contribution, both in dealing with security threats and in helping realize the opportunities arising as a result of a more interconnected world. It is further argued that an active and capable EU would make an impact on a global scale. In doing so, it would contribute to an effective multilateral system leading to a fairer, safer and more united world.
