This report presents Finland's security and defense policy. Its basic components are the maintenance and development of a credible defense capability, remaining militarily non-allied under the prevailing conditions and participating in international cooperation to strengthen security and stability. The goal of Finland's defense is to guarantee its independence, secure the livelihood of its citizens, prevent Finnish territory from being seized and secure the functioning of the state leadership. The report states that Finland is committed to the development of the European Union's crisis management capability and considers close cooperation between the EU and NATO an important basis for this work.
