The purpose of this strategy is to define the national objectives, tasks and comprehensive governmental tools for Hungary to assert its national security interests. The paper argues that although Hungary enjoys an unprecedented level of security as a result of the successful process of Euro-Atlantic integration, solidarity and cooperation between Hungary and its allies, in the globalized world of today even distant security threats and challenges may reach the country with dramatic speed. This strategy thus applies a comprehensive interpretation of the concept of security.
