This white paper on defense provides guidelines for administering the defense function of the Republic of Indonesia. It fundamentally incorporates stated defense policies in carrying out defense functions in the future. The white paper is also expected to help the government apparatus and the people of Indonesia to better understand defense policies and is essential for Indonesia in maintaining international cooperation. Transparency, in particular pertaining defense policies, is considered one of the efforts made to establish mutual trust with other nations.
