This strategy statement sets out the vision and mission of Ireland in the period between 2008 and 2010. Its aim is to develop and sustain its vision of a defense organization that formulates and implements effective policy, provides timely and accurate advice and is capable of deploying a modern, interoperable, sustainable force that can deliver flexible military capabilities at home and abroad. Its mission is to provide for the military defense of Ireland, contribute to national and international peace and security and fulfill all other roles assigned by government.
