This white paper explains the security and defense strategy of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. It sets out the progress and transformation that has already been made in defense reform. The white paper also raises new issues that have emerged since the adoption of the National Security and Defence Concept. Building upon the lessons identified within Macedonia and externally, such as in Afghanistan and Iraq, the white paper assesses the country's strategic context. It also incorporates the defense strategy and policy for integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures.
