This document presents the first update to New Zealand's 2002 Long-Term Development Plan. This tool enables decisions on defense acquisitions to be taken in the context of the government’s defense policy, while further outlining the priority of projects and their affordability. It links the government's defense policy objectives with the capability requirements. in addition, the documents contains a comprehensive list of projects, with preliminary costing, timings, and priorities. It has a rolling forward focus of 10 years and was constructed as an active document, to be updated regularly.
