Global pessimism meets desire for an operational army.

The Swiss are more pessimistic about the global political situation in 2024 than ever before. They want an operational army. The inclination to move closer to NATO is above average. These are the findings of the "Security 2024" study published by the Military Academy (MILAK) at ETH Zurich and the Centre for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich.
Between 3 and 22 January 2024, YouGov Switzerland (formerly LINK Marketing Services AG) surveyed a representative sample of 1223 voters from German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino by telephone. With a confidence level of 95%, the sampling error is ±2.9% in the worst case.
