Sonja is a Mediation Management Support at the Center for Security Studies (CSS), ETH Zurich. In this role, she provides administrative support to the CSS Mediation Support Team and CSS Think Tank, ensuring the smooth coordination of programs and projects. She works primarily within the “Mediation Support Project” (MSP), a joint initiative of the CSS and swisspeace supported by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA); the “Culture and Religion in Mediation” (CARIM) program, carried out by the CSS together with the FDFA’s Peace and Human Rights Division; and the “Ceasefire Project”, a partnership with the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) supported by the European Union. In addition, she supports events related to the MAS ETH “Mediation in Peace Processes” (MPP) program and contributes to a wide range of administrative tasks within program management.

Before joining CSS, Sonja worked with various NGOs and international organizations, including the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), SOS Children's Villages International (SOSCVI) and most recently UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Prior to starting this position she worked at the ETH IVIA Lab.

Sonja holds a Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Innsbruck and a Bachelor's degree in transnational Social Work from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.
