Jascha Heynen is a PhD Candidate at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. His research concerns activities in the gray zone between peace and war (often referred to as „hybrid warfare“) and the logics that guide state interaction in this nebulous realm. He devotes particular attention to influence operations and disinformation as well as to critical infrastructure sabotage by landand by sea. Before joining the PhD program, Jascha worked as a Researcher in the CSS thinktank, where he additionally provided management support to the head of the thinktank Dr. Daniel Möckli. Prior to joining CSS, Jascha worked for the Specialist Committees of the Swiss Parliament in the Federal Palace in Bern.

Jascha holds an MPhil in Politics and International Studies from the University of Cambridge (UK) as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Zurich.
