Marc Werner is a PhD Candidate at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. His project focuses on the interactions between multiple mediators engaged in the management and resolution of armed conflict.
Before starting his PhD, Marc worked as a research assistant at the University of St. Gallen, where he focused on peacekeeping operations and violence against civilians. He was also a Carlo-Schmid Fellow at the United Nations University Centre for Policy Research in New York, where he worked with the Conflict Prevention and Sustaining Peace team on issues related to organized crime and peacekeeping. Marc has held several research assistant positions, including with the Peace Observatory project at the Chair of International Relations and Conflict Management, the Master of Advanced Studies in Mediation in Peace Processes, and at the CSS.
Marc holds an MA in Comparative and International Studies from ETH Zurich and a BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics (PPLE), majoring in Politics, from the University of Amsterdam.
