On the 28th of June, 2023, the CSS successfully held an ETH Workshop on "Russia's Ukrainian Invasion: Military Lessons, Technological Trends and Armament Policy Options".

Therefore, three panels were composed of high-ranking experts who contributed to the discussion with complementary (i.e., academic, military and political) perspectives. After introductory remarks by the Director of the CSS, Prof. Dr. Andreas Wenger, the following topics were discussed in the Alumni Pavilion of ETH Zurich under the moderation of CSS members:
- Military Lessons and Implications (Moderation: Amos Dossi, Lead of Military Cluster, CSS)
- Technological Trends and Challenges (Moderation: Dr. Myriam Dunn Cavelty, Deputy for Research and Teaching, CSS)
- Arms Policy Options for Switzerland (Moderation: Dr. Oliver Thränert, Head of Think Tank, CSS)
The conference was held in German and was a non-public event (Chatham House Rule) intended to promote an informal exchange between politics, administration, business and academia.
