The series focuses particularly on Russia, Ukraine, Moldova (including the breakaway region of Transnistria), Belarus, and the South Caucasus states of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia.

The issues feature original academic and policy-relevant research articles from authors worldwide, complemented by topical statistical data, graphics, and opinion polls.

The Eastern Europe - Analytical Digest Series is produced by a partner network.  The core partners are the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich, the external page Research Centre for East European Studies (FSO) at the University of Bremen, and the external page Center for Eastern European Studies (CEES) at the University of Zurich. Additional institutions participate in specific Digest series.

When a new issue is published, CSS sends out a free newsletter, which can be subscribed to on the respective Digest’s webpage.
