This paper discusses and analyzes the different diplomatic approaches of the United States and the Republic of Korea in communicating and dealing with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The author explains that common multilateral negotiations and arrangements are the most effective path to a diplomatic and non-confrontational resolution of the international standoff with North Korea and to an end of the crisis over the North's nuclear weapons program.
