This publication asserts that status quo training regimes of UN peacekeeping missions are ill-equipped to deal with the complex and changing conflict dynamics and resulting threats to human security that challenge contemporary UN peace-keeping operations. The text’s authors argue that UN peacekeeping authorities should adopt more comprehensive and integrated training, and stress that such efforts should be underpinned by 1) strengthened links between military, police, and civilian components; 2) an enhanced focus on context analysis; 3) themes of inclusivity, and more.
