This paper's purpose is to show how international migration flows can contribute to development. The author bases his analyse on the UN's "Eight Millennium Development Goals" to show the positive impacts migration can have. As the author argues, both developed and developing countries can profit from an effective migration management. He highlights the importance of facilitating the integration of migrants and improving the data flow on migration in order to promote a better understanding of future trends. A good migrant policy creates "brain mobility" and allows developing countries to accumulate profit from remittances flows that help increase domestic welfare.
