This book offers insights into the civilian dimension of peace operations. It is a summary of the work that the AU Peace Support Operations Division (PSOD) has done to date to develop the civilian dimension of AU peace operations. The goal of this publication is to inform AU member states and other partners and stakeholders about the civilian dimension of the ASF (African Standby Force). The book contains all the major policy documents relevant to the civilian dimension of the ASF and underlines the importance of a multidimensional approach to peace operations a reality in Africa.
