This report provides an overview of the ethnic insurgencies and ceasefire agreements between the government and the insurgent groups in Myanmar. The author explores Myanmar's potential for national reconciliation and argues that unless both the government and the ethnic groups demonstrate continued commitment towards peace, the country's new found tranquillity may return to a state of hostility.
