This is a transcript of a testimony made to the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats. The speaker discusses the growing strategic significance of the Russian Far East (RFE) region in light of China's growing influence. He argues this development may weaken Russia's sovereignty over the region and strengthen China geopolitically. He concludes by arguing that the US must take Pacific Russia more seriously as an economic and security partner and increase its presence in the region in order to limit China's reach.
