This briefing discusses recommendations on the redevelopment of the UK National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security, a framework to implement UNSCR 1325 and subsequent resolutions, to reduce the impact of conflict on women and girls, and promote their inclusion in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. By offering key recommendations the authors highlight some of the gaps between policy and practice in the UK’s work on women, peace and security. They conclude by encouraging the UK Government to work with civil society and governments in-country to better improve the effectiveness of NAP content and implementation.
