This commentary examines the capital controls, including restrictions on cash withdrawals and transfers between institutions, which have been in place in Cyprus since March 27th 2013. The author asks how soon can they be lifted and whether the country's recapitalization plans will be sufficiently convincing to allow the Cypriot banking sector to regain the public's trust.
