This paper uses a variety sources, including interviews with representatives from Egypt, Iraq, Qatar and Iran to examine the position of Middle East state officials toward the 2015 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference. The author suggests that the overwhelming sentiment among Middle East officials toward the conference is one of concern and frustration. These feelings, she states, are due to a number of factors including aggravation over the lack of progress in achieving the objectives of the non-proliferation regime and the stringent non-proliferation burdens they are expected to bear.
