This book presents the results of the 2014 Elcano Global Presence Index, which measures the global presence of 80 countries as well as the extent to which they are participating in and shaping the process of globalization. The book also contains chapters on 1) the EU’s global presence; 2) how Europe’s global economic presence compares to those of emerging markets; 3) the role of Asia in globalization; 4) the foreign policy strategies of Australia and South Africa; and 5) the soft power of countries around the world as measured by the presence of their news agencies.
