This brief illustrates how many of the commitments made in the last Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) overlap with the peace-related targets in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The brief then argues that the Sixth FOCAC Summit in South Africa, which will occur on 4-5 December 2015, provides a golden opportunity to 1) ensure the Forum’s next action plan serves as an implementation mechanism for the SDGs, and 2) refortify China’s and Africa’s shared commitment to peace and security, as articulated by the UN's 2030 Agenda Plan.
