This issue of the African Journal on Conflict Resolution (AJCR) discusses approaches to conflict resolution, mitigation and mediation in selected African countries. It explores the nexus between social capital and reintegration of ex-combatants in Sierra Leone and considers the implications of cross-cultural encounters for Tanzania's education system. Moreover, it provides an historical analysis of farmer-Fulbe tensions in western Africa, and reviews the deleterious role of horizontal inequalities in African conflicts.
