This report wonders whether the Pacific Alliance – which is made up of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru - has the potential to integrate more closely in the future. As the text’s authors see it, all of the easy steps have been taken and it’s now incumbent on the leaders of the individual states, the private sector, and the general public to spur greater integration. Two possible ways ahead include 1) deepening the Alliance’s engagement with Mercosur, and 2) cooperating more closely in four areas – financial and energy markets, trade, and foreign relations.
