This report focuses on the potential for change within the energy sector of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), including how developments in wind and solar power technologies could disrupt the region’s reliance on hydroelectric and coal power. Additionally, the authors highlight the burgeoning cross-border electricity trade in the GMS as well as how such trade could have a positive impact on the region's economy, environment and energy security.
