The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) is an autonomous organization embedded within the UN system. Its fundamental goal is to ensure that social equity, inclusion and justice are central to international development thinking, policy creation and practice. The Institute specifically supports this goal by performing multidisciplinary research and policy analyses on the social dimensions of contemporary development work.
