Afrobarometer is an independent, nonpartisan research tool that regularly measures the social, political and economic 'atmosphere' in multiple African countries, as shared by ordinary citizens. In doing so, the surveys 1) provide empirical data for next-step policy making and programing, 2) promote greater transparency and public accountability, and 3) help stimulate dialogue on important African issues.
