Dr. Dominika Kunertova works as a Senior Researcher at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. Her research covers military applications of emerging technologies and their impact on international security and the character of warfare, and transatlantic defense cooperation. She is also a NATO Partner Country Director of the research project on future drone technology and warfare, funded by NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
Prior to joining CSS, Dominika conducted strategic foresight at NATO Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, supported capability development at NATO HQ in Brussels, and mapped the European military drone landscape at Center for War Studies in Denmark. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Université de Montréal in Canada.
Dominika’s research has been published in the Journal of Transatlantic Studies, European Security, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, the Ethics Forum, Defence Studies, the Journal of Contemporary European Research, the Military Review, the International Journal, and the Canadian Journal of Political Science, as well as in numerous policy research reports and briefs on drones, missile technology and arms control, hypersonic weapons, and European security. Her public affairs commentary has appeared in outlets including RUSI, The Conversation, Le Rubicon, War on the Rocks, and the Canadian Network for Strategic Analysis.
