Indonesia is on its way to assuming importance beyond Southeast Asia. The worlds fourth-largest country enjoyed a period of economic and political stability under the outgoing president, but left much-needed reforms to the next government. Challenges include managing relations with the regions, improving structural weaknesses in the economy, and defining Indonesias role on the international stage.
