The Greenland Home Rule Government provides for the education, health and general welfare of Greenland's population and is self-governing in almost all domestic areas. Greenland maintains close cultural, political, social and economic ties with Denmark in the form of annual subsidies and assistance with the provision of education, hospital and other services to Greenlandic citizens.
