The Cayman Institute is an independent, apolitical, privately funded, nonprofit organization established to consider the long term effects and implications of diverse technological, sociological, economical and cultural issues to the Cayman Islands and other small islands developing states. In particular, it focuses its research on energy security, conservation and sources of alternative energy as well as extreme weather events and government responses to natural disasters.
