The Office of the Historian at the US Department of State (DoS) is responsible, by law, for the preparation and publication of the official documentary history of US foreign relations in the Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) series. Additionally, it prepares policy-related historical studies for DoS leaders and other agencies.
