The China Maritime Studies Institute (CMSI) is a research institute within the US Naval War College that supports the needs of the US Navy. It aims to understand the maritime dimensions of China's rise in power and development by conducting research in areas including energy, global commerce, law of the sea, maritime technologies and shipbuilding.
