The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) is a networked, education-oriented research center that's made up of scholars who study the causes and human consequences of terrorism in the United States and around the world. The consortium is particularly committed to the widespread dissemination of its research findings not only for the benefit of homeland security professionals, but also for students and the general public.
