As its name suggests, the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) strives to eliminate mines, explosive remnants of war and other explosive hazards throughout the world. It pursues these ends by performing research, developing standards, and supporting local capacity building in mine-affected countries.
