The Swiss Air Force is, together with the Land Forces, one of the two services that form the group Defense in the Swiss Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport. It aims to protect the Swiss airspace in support of its armed forces and population and carry out air transport both at home and abroad partly within the context of civil affairs support and peace-keeping operations.
