The Austrian Federal Ministry of Defence is responsible for national defense and security of Austria. Its armed forces are the military defense of Austria and conducts on the principles of a militia system. Its tasks include defending constitutional institutions, preserving law and order and providing humanitarian aid in case of natural catastrophes.
