Freedom House is an independent watchdog organization that supports the expansion of basic freedoms around the world. In promoting this goal, it 1) analyzes the assorted challenges to global freedom, 2) advocates greater political and civil liberties, 3) supports those fighting to defend human rights and promote democratic change, and 4) empowers citizens to exercise their fundamental rights.
